I have spent years working in the retail industry hoping to move up only to find that there was no room for advancement because of the poor economy. There are many scams out there, but the truth is that everything is worth to you what you are willing to pay. Think about it. You go to one retail store, you find something you really like for $10. You go to a competitor and you find it for $8. Do you go back to the other one and complain that they are trying to steal from you or do you just go for the better deal? This is the same as all business.
A lot of places you will find will offer you this pretty picture with a sob story and tell you how they pulled through the muck with a couple of bruises. This happens, but it's not the average reality. There are millions of people pursuing their dreams to this day, but their dreams don't require a mansion and cruises on command. We all just want to be able to live comfortably while being able to work free of obligation.
Have you ever noticed that you ENJOY working when you're NOT ON THE CLOCK?! That is because we are not designed to work for everyone else! As humans, we are independent! If you want to take back your independence, you're going to have to learn to be interdependent. Interdependence means that everyone relies on eachother. Independence is the ability to be self-sufficient. We all need somebody's help every now and then. What we do not want is to be dependent. Well, independence, here we come!
I've just started this recently and I'm already psyched about all the possibilities. I pull out my laptop and work whenever I want for as long as I want! Sometimes, I get too addicted to what I am doing and my wife wishes I would relax. But, I am relaxed! I love spending time with her, do not get me wrong, but for once in my life I feel like I'm accomplishing things without having to worry about hernias, pinched fingers, grumpy customers, call-outs, and restless executives with nothing better to do but tell YOU what to do!
